Force, In the "drivetrain" section, have a read of the threads titled "Powershift Owners Please Respond" and the thread titled "Powershift Trans Limited Function" You deffo have a fault relating to your transmission. I very much doubt changing oil will fix it. The main thing to check is the colour of the oil when it is drained.

Good afternoon Hope all good! I purchased a Mondeo on the 12th September 2023 and loved it for 3 1/2 weeks, lovely condition and drove beautifully, it had a slightly lazy start first thing so I replaced the battery and then the starter motor as it persisted.. Yesterday though I started noticing spikes in the revs and then gears sticking resulting in "Limited Transmission" fault coming up.

Fundamentally, the transmission itself was junk. It suffered failures of the electronics and sensors as well as the control module and, in some cases, failure of the mechanical parts including clutch-packs. Symptoms include harsh shifting, a loss of drive, noises and, as you've noted, failure to select some gears.

My 2012 MC TDCI LX wagon gearbox just got the dreaded "limited transmission function" warning and I lost first, third, fifth and reverse. The local Ford dealership are wanting around $14k to replace the transmission. The car has done around 224k but other than the always a little rough gear changing from 1st to 2nd, it has been a fantastic car.
